About This Project

Williams Cajun Road Meter Site was a joint venture between Williams-Transco and Enbridge.

The scope of the project entailed clearing and grubbing over 2 acres of pasture to construct a new meter station with two 20” tie-ins into Williams existing 30” Mainline A and 42” Mainline D, then traversing underground over 400 ft to Enbridge’s tie-in. The meter station included two 10” and one 4” skid-mounted ultrasonic meter runs and two 12”x10”x12” skid-mounted flow control runs. Other equipment included OPP controls, a condensate tank, a filter separator, a gas chromatograph, a custody transfer flow computer, radio communication facilities, and one RTU Building. This project involved site/civil, piles, mechanical, equipment setting, and electrical disciplines to complete the construction of the project.

The two significant obstacles we faced were an aggressive schedule to complete William’s tie-ins, and coordinating between two clients, each with their own specifications. Trade was able to maintain the schedule despite difficulties such as weather by looking ahead and analyzing the schedule, which allowed us the ability to make quick decisions. Also, our shop fabrication capability was a driving factor in our success in maintaining the schedule. The coordination between the clients posed some difficulties due to conflicting specifications and no guidelines as to which specifications governed in any particular situation. We were able to mitigate these circumstances by constantly looking ahead, keeping all parties alert of any conflicts, and good documentation.

Trade is always going above and beyond for safety. We believe in safety throughout all aspects of our company, and, with this mentality, we were able to report one near miss and no incidents working over 11,000 man-hours on this project.
